Excuse my stubby nails! |
Beauty inspiration can come from anywhere and nails are an especially good place to flex your creativity; colourful nails can be a cheeky little wink to an otherwise ''natural'' look (not a look I favour) . I'm certainly no nail artist and I don't usually go in for elaborate nail designs as looking after a baby and working with my hands means I almost immediately ruin them. But being as fixated on colour combinations as I am I often mix a few colours, (why have one colour when you can have more?) This nail look is massively inspired by Camille Walala whose work is just plain wonderful. The French born designer is based in London and describes her Memphis inspired signature style as ''Tribal POP'' and it can be seen on huge murals, cushions, furniture and now on clothes!

Camille Walala x Gorman |
She has recently worked on a collaboration with my favourite clothes shop Gorman and I want it ALL. Gorman is an australian shop founded by Lisa Gorman whose clothes are fun, vibrant and full of crazy patterns so they couldn't have found a better designer to collaborate with the Camille. (Sometimes I get sad that Gorman is based in Australia but really its a good thing for my bank balance.)
Here I've used Revlon Colourstay Gel Envy nail varnish in 440 (wild card) and 100 (cardshark a pale rosy pink) and Topshop nails in Green Room. The Topshop green colour is one of the ''hero nail colours'' that they've re-released to celebrate 5 years of Topshop beauty . Topshop make my favourite nail varnishes as the colours are always really interesting and they're affordable but they can be a bit less long lasting than the newer gel nail varnishes that I've been enamoured with recently.

If you want your nails to be REALLY inspired by Camille you can go full Walala in these nail stickers which I'll definitely be buying once my nails are longer ( they all got broken in the in cleaning fest 2015)
PS: check out Camille's Instagram - its always a great place for inspiration.
